Photos from the first day

It just seemed correct to go for a lovely walk today, both because it was the first day of the new year & because it has FINALLY stopped raining!

The sun was out as we headed off to Lepe Country Park - the New Forest was stretching out to the north & the Isle of Wight lay to our south.

We scrambled over the beach & squelched through the mud of the Lepe Loop walk. Along the way I took some pictures which I have made look like pen drawings. I love the sea & the gnarly winter oak trees!

In the end, we headed home; wind swept & mud splattered (& me with a leaking wellington & one very wet foot!) But we had a great time!
